Adhering to its mission of serving the un reached Alakh Nayan Mandir has been performing community outreach activities. It has now established linkages with various organizations at National and International levels. Majority of the above mentioned community activities are sustained by the revenue that is generated out of the savings from paying patients. District Blindness Control Society and local national and international NGOs. Urban areas: To name a few, local Organizations like Mahaveer International, Employee Contributory Health Scheme Polyclinic, Water shed Development Project, Lions Club have been associated with Alakh Nayan Mandir for part contribution in eye screening programs. All these organizations are city based and contribute to provide services to widows, army personnel, their families and employees of their own organizations. Rural areas: In rural areas services are provided through mobile units. Patients are screened at the village itself and then they are referred to the base hospital for detailed examination and surgery, if required their transport to and from the hospital, loading as well as boarding are managed and funded by the hospital itself. We have three well equipped unites for the screening and refraction of patients during outreach programs. Auto refractometer, Refraction sets are an integral part of these units. During the camps, patients are also educated towards their eye health through IEC materials.
